Brunette George Clooney Is Playing Tricks on My Brain—See the Photos

When you think of George Clooney, you probably think of him as Dr. Ross on ER or Danny Ocean in the Ocean’s 11 franchise: handsome, charming, and suave, with a head full of thick, gorgeous salt-and-pepper hair. So you can imagine my surprise when I saw the photos of Clooney at the opening night of his Broadway show, Goodnight and Good Luck (a stage adaptation of the 2005 film), with said iconic gray hair nowhere to be found. Instead, the mega-movie star was … a brunette? Yep, you read that right—George Clooney has chocolate brown hair now.

The actor hasn’t sported full-on dark hair basically since the early ‘90s; he started going gray during ER and his salt-and-pepper hair has become somewhat of a Clooney trademark as the years pass. However, for his role as legendary journalist Edward R. Murrow, Clooney picked up a bottle of hair dye to mimic the broadcaster’s look more accurately. We often say that a celebrity looks “unrecognizable” when they tweak their appearance or dye their hair, but in this case, it’s true. Seriously, who is this man?
